Pandemic Years
In 2019 we decided to move back home to Oregon, we put the property on the market and closed Jamey's medical practice. We hiked the 800-mile Arizona Trail from April - June, 3 hours before we were scheduled to fly home to Oregon we found out the house caught fire and burned down. We were forced to go back to California while the house got sorted out. We worked on the property getting it ready to sell from August- December. We arrived back home in Oregon on Winter Solstice 2019. We spend the winter helping with sheetrock and painting. Covid happened and all my teaching gigs and workshops disappeared, Jamey was not able to open a clinic and I was told I had severe rheumatoid arthritis and my creating days were over. It turned out to be an infected crown over a tooth and once we figured that out my hands slowly began to work again. We lived in a 17' RV for 19 months while the house was being finished. I did not have a studio, a kiln, or any way to create during the rainy months. I was able to make some mosaics during the summer months. In the summer of 2021, we were able to move out of the Rv and into the house where I had an indoor studio and I was able to create on a consistent basis.
